Hi

I just bought a used iPad 1 with 3G but I am not using a Sim card as I do not have the extra $$$$ every month

I would like to find a GPS navigation app where I can download the maps I need , the whole USA would be nice but only California would be OK ,
Asia maps or European maps would be nice for vacation but not a deal breaker,

turn by turn voice would also be nice but again not a deal breaker

Any ideas ?

And will it also work on an iPhone ?

Take a look at NavFree. As the name implies, it is free, and you can download maps to your device on a state-by-state basis. Includes voice navigation. It's not the best, but it might just be what you're looking for.
