I have downloaded this app but the user guide in the app is for desktops. And i have no idea how to get this app to work on the ipad.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, coz i so need to get this working.

there are no microsoft word apps for iOS. there are plenty of manuals, but no apps. if you want to use microsoft word documents then purchase an equivalent app like Office2HD or QuickOffice or Docs2Go etc etc.

I used GoogleDocs. For my purposes that seems sufficient

Try OnLive its and Office Desktop for the ipad.
