Is there any of the official AppStore apps that actually can show the movie on the iPad?
Or are they only working as remote and library, like XBMC Constellation?

I can't Jailbreak right now (5.0.1 on iPad 2)

Is there an XBMC app? No, not even in the JB community (that I know of). It has not been ported to the iPad which is slightly different than ATV and ATV2, and both have ports.

There are, however, other apps to stream movies to your ipad.
Buzz Player is my current favorite.

Yes, there's an XBMC app for the iPad. Click me. However, you need to be jailbroken, preferably on 4.x.

I had it for all of ten minutes. It was soooo laggy it was near impossible to use. So now I convert my movies from the TS video format to m4v using handbrake, then stream them using AirVideo.

I hadn't checked since last year when I put it on my ATV2.

App Store version of XBMC (for none-jailbroken devices) is available now.

Please search "XBMC XL" in the AppStore app.
