Need Video Player that handles OMF video and control by PlayList on iPad

I would like to use iPad to view OMF video (which is downloaded onto my iPad). My OMF video will have many different video segments combined together. There is a playlist that indicates the start of each segments.

I would like the ability to control which video clip or segment to be displayed by giving the start point of the video and its end. I think the information could be in frame count ??

I thought that QuickTime may work ???

I would appreciate all the helpl you can offer.

    Thanks,

AFAIK no such app exists. You'll need to convert it to a format that either the iPad's native video app player can play or one that one of the third-party apps can play. Oplayer is probably the most popular, but again, it won't play the files that you have without transcoding them into another format.

The most popular transcoding application is Handbrake (free) but I'm not sure if it will handle your files. There are numerous other applications that do similar work...use the Google search field in the upper right-hand corner of this page.

FWIW these are the media types that are supported on the iPad:

H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format.
