Can you merge cells in iWorks Numbers for iPad?

    Can you merge cells in iWorks Numbers for iPad?

    Can't seem to figure it out. Anybody know if it's possible? It's the latest version of Numbers and on iPad 2.

    Nope. Can't be done.

    Instead, when I want a label spanning several cells I use a rectangle shape, size and place it the way I want and then add text inside it. Not a great solution, very fiddley, but it doesn't look too bad.
