questions about ipad2 to print a webpage?

If I want to print a webpage but I'm not really want to print it on the paper, could I turn the page into PDF file and save it into my ipad2? Which APP program should I purchase?

Safari can save a webpage to a PDF already, there's no need to purchase an app. What you do is to make a 'bookmarklet' - a small piece of Javascript - that will convert the current webpage to a PDF.

Just create a new bookmark in Safari and copy-and-paste the following Javascript in as the URL

    javascript:pdf_url=location.href;location.href='ht tp://pdfmyurl.com?url='+escape(pdf_url)

(due to a 'technical issue' when I paste this script in, it always inserts a spurious space in the 'http' - that shouldn't be there and you'll have to manually edit it out).

All you need to do now is surf to the page you want to covert to PDF then select the above bookmark/bookmarklet and Safari will convert the page to PDF - you can then save it in iBooks or another app for later printing.

That looks to be a useful bit of information but I am mostly using Firefox right now as the system UI is enough new to be trying to learn at once. I suppose I will have to try your idea in my browser to see if it will work there as well.

If not, there are several free PDF printers available if you do a search on the Internet. I use one on my Windows systems.

OK, just tried it in Firefox and it didn't work. It's possible I didn't set it up correctly but it's also probable that Firefox doesn't have the same capabilities as Safari.

Now to bring up Safari, enter the code the same way, and see if it works there ...

Aha! I added it to Safari and had the same problem. I then checked the "address" and found the "%20" you were talking about. After correcting the address, it now works ... for both browsers!

Thanks again for the handy and useful tip.

I know you think you understood what you think I said but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

I like Instapaper, it's a paid app (~$5, but pretty slick). It saves the content of a web page (ie article and pictures), but cuts out all the adds and other nonsense. You can print from it, and it stores the item locally on your iPad to read off line if you like. You can also manage your information online, create/edit folders, etc.
It's not a PDF, but I think you can work with the stuff to some extent.

You accidentally reported your last post rather than posting it, so it was sent to all Moderators.

I think your last post was

"Turn the safari webpage on my iPad into PDF file and save the file file in my iBooks or other PDF viewer on iPad , could it be possible?"

This is exactly what the Bookmarklet above does - it turns the webpage into a PDF on your iPad so that you can save it in iBooks.
