Hi everyone,
I have been lurking this forum for a while, excited about the iPad but not expecting to get one due to cost. I am a huge fan of manga and wrote a manga processing program for my Kindle DX. My parents surprised me with an iPad on 3g launch day (they are awesome!) so I added iPad functionality to my manga processor. I thought I would share it here for any manga/comic fans.
You can either process an individual folder of scans or, better yet, organize your manga beforehand like this and the program will batch process a collection of manga:Manga_TitleBlah_Chapter_001(all the image scans of chapter 1)Blah_Chapter_002(all the image scans of chapter 2)...Blah_Chapter_999For example:(all the image scans of chapter 999)School_RumbleSchool_Rumble_001cover.jpg001.jpg002_003.jpg004.jpgSchool_Rumble_002(more images)...School_Rumble_283Current features:(more images)
+ Auto trim white space, resize, rotate portrait to landscape, reduce to maximum dpi, reduce colors or grayscale... I forget what else it can do. You can specify all of these features beforehand.
+ pdf and/or zip (either .zip or .cbz) output
+ Bind folders into volumes (can either manually specify a bind file or set an auto bind size)
Program was written in java and requires that you have ImageMagick installed.
There isn't a gui cause I hate writing gui's in java :P
I have used this program to process a ton of manga for my iPad. Pdf manga looks good in Goodreader, but I prefer cbz manga in ComicZeal.
Current version can be downloaded free here (scroll to last post for the latest version):Canti: Manga Processing Program link
Enjoy and let me know if it works for you![]()
