HD gets misused. The iPad screen isn't HD. And still do app developers choose to add an HD to their apps, to indicate that it is specifically designed for the iPad.
Don't expect any fancy graphics, because it says HD, all it means is that it isn't an iPhone only UI.

Yeah. It's HD, but it isn't HD. But it is iPad only. Clear as mud
It's like AR. Developers all of a sudden think because their app can super impose graphics over the live video camera they can call it AR.
