Go to Facebook website in safari-touch the icon on the top bar (the one that looks like a box with an arrow pointing to the right)-drop down menu will give you the option of sending it to your homepage where it makes a Facebook icon. Works great!

Thanks it worked, now can you chat on that also or have to have some other thing to do that?

I usually use the Facebook webpage!Works OK for me!

Go to the page, then click the button at the left of the address bar. Then click add to home

Touch.facebook.com is great as well

The Friendly app seems okay, but lacks chat. Guess I'll do what most others are and just create a web link on my home screen. From what I hear, Facebook won't be updating the official app for iPad.
