    Satellite mapping software

    Hai,

Is there any apps for iPad that can view satellite mapping like...I wanna draw a line on a few area and list down what are the minerals there (something like geologist do) Any apps that might suit for the job ? I planning to buy iPad if that software exist. If not, I can't use it for my work.

If anybody know what's the right software to use, please do let me know I really appreciate it.

    Thanks

It should be possible to use either Google Maps (web) or Google Earth (free app) to take a screenshot and then use Adobe Ideas (free) to draw lines and such. There are other "note" apps that can do this as well, but Ideas is nice and quick.

I imagine others who have had their iPads longer than myself would have more or better ideas.

I use google earth on the computer and it's great. I can import my trip logs from my gps and other neat features. I camp a lot an use it to look for new sites an hidden treasures from mining places to old cabins.

Havnt used it on iPad yet but if like the computer it's one powerful peice of software

    BatchGeo

I use the BatchGeo web app to create various Google maps for work. If you get an iPad with G3 then you can use Google Earth to get your coordinates or use a handheld GPS to get them. Enter the coordinates into an Excel sheet with your information, load it into the web app and it will plot them on a Google map that you can share online. Check it out here at batchgeo.com and if you do use it and make your map public please post it back here for sharing.
