Video attachment
Hi everyone, I received an iPad 1 for Christmas, to this day I cannot open video attachments that my Son sends me
From his Droid smartphone. I do not understand technical terms, very new to all of this. I can view all text and photos
That he sends, but no videos. I will appreciate any help, thank you

You'll need to have an app installed that can play various video files. You didn't say what type of videos you are sent, but have a look at the app OPlayer HD. You can get a free Lite version to try (to see if it will open the videos you receive). If it works for you and you like it, you could then buy the Pro version for more features.
When you have the app installed, press on the video attachment in the received e-mail. You should get an "Open In..." popup in which should be the OPlayer HD app. Select the app and it should open to play your video.
There are other video players, but this one has done well for a lot of forum members - plus it's free (!). So, give it a try?

Hello, again, rc7085. First off, I merged another post you made about this issue into this thread. That's because having more than one thread running for the same issue causes fragmentation and makes it hard to follow the conversation. Plus, it's against forum rules to have more than one post per issue. So, please, keep any follow-ups and further questions about this issue to this thread here. Thanks.
I see that OPlayer HD did not work for you. Can you tell us what happened when you tried to use that app? Did you get an error notice or did it just not work?
Please tell us what file type your son is sending you (as in, does the file end in .avi, .wav, etc). Knowing the file type will help us to figure out what app may work for you.
Thanks.

Okay, try this:
Open the OPlayer HD app and, within it's settings, turn on Quick Time. See this pic for what/where I mean:
Attachment 25002
Now, I don't know if this'll work, but I know that this setting is off by default. Maybe turning it on will help you play a file that Quick Time (on your computer) can play.
So, try that? Good luck and let us know how you get on.
