Thumbs up Turn your iPad into a monitor for your WINDOWS PC

We have just released the iPad App "MaxiVista".

MaxiVista turns your iPad into a second monitor for your Windows PC.

It basically works similar to iDisplay or Air Display but is compatible with Windows XP/Vista and Windows 7.

Video demo: iPad as a dual monitor

Your feedback would be very much appreciated.

Yes, $10 is rather a lot to try it out - I was a little hesitant for sure.

That said, I was waiting for a long time for Air Display to release their app so I did decide to try this out. I have used it only for a few hours, but so far it has been great. Some positive comments in general:

    - Using it with windows 7 64bit and it is working very well
    - I have a pretty good wireless connection here - haven't fiddled with any settings and performance 'out of the box' has been very good. I can keep a window up and type in it with very little lag and move a cursor around pretty well. That is my main use -I'm not going to even try running video - I'll stick to my main monitor for that.
    - Pretty simple: installed, reboot, and run - and then it just worked.
    - I have dual monitors here already - and to my great surprise, it works with that setup too - adding a THIRD monitor. Wowsers, my face lit up with that one - I'm going to rearrange my desktop for my new third monitor now!

On the con side some very minor stuff:

    - areo not supported - it moves to basic - oh well.
    - I haven't quite got the cursor moving across screens perfect yet - I think with the different sizes it only goes across through the top portion which I'm sure I will get used to.

Altogether I'm pretty happy so far!

@Rocktiludrop: Thanks for your support and the kind words.

We are glad that you like MaxiVista. Your negative points are absolutey valid and a sting in our back. Unfortunately, it will be very difficult to ever support Aero because of Windows restrictions.

It took us 2 years of R&D alone, to overcome the WDDM restriction. Actually, we are the only one to support WDDM drivers with such multi monitor solution. Others only support XP video drivers.

@Yarrow: We would love to offer such trial option. We are new to the Apple Apps world and have yet to figure out whether we can offer a trial version. Actually, this is a good idea and we will dig into this asap.

However, you can also watch the video demo. It really is, what you see there. Not more, not less. If you would like to see anything specific, I can gladly create another video demo.

Is $10 the total cost or do you have to buy windows software to make it work? Can I get it to work on two different computers or is it locked to just one?

$9.99 is the total cost for the Windows PC. <-> iPad Edition.

The $29.99 version is a separate Edition that we offer for a long time. It allows you to use a Windows PC as a second monitor for another Windows PC.

    Hi MaxiVista,

I'm a registered user of MaxiVista for PC (version 4) and was wondering if it's possible to use the version for the IPad in conjunction with the PC -> PC version? I.e. Can i have my display spread across my 2 PC's and my IPad all at the same time?

    Thanks
    Dale

Ok downloaded app but when following link to ipad/maxivista
get "The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."

Hurrah for progress! Will be away for a couple of days so trust it will be sorted when I get back...........
