A new version of HTML Egg has just been released today, the new version carries a number of new features such as round corner text boxes, snap to grid, position lock, multi-select, PDF export and better alignment options. As always, upgrades are free.

I realise I'm a little late to the party but I too would like to test this app out.
I have 30 websites running. All hand coded by me and have been looking for an app that focuses on creativity not code-activity.

I've done a test page.
The tabs when I'm editing in egg show rounded corners, live site shows square.
I keep losing my image, top right, but that could be a caching issue or my host maybe slow to update.
I would love to be able to change the name of my image right on Ipad's photo files but I can't. There's work arounds but I rather do everything right when I need to.
FTPing was very easy.
I do occasionally crash but I think this is due to processing and auto saving. If I make a quick change, preview it, ftp it - I might crash. However, if I give 2 seconds between each activity everything runs smoothly.

There have been times when I wish for an undo button. I think that's more to do with instant gratification of going back to what I had before I made the mistake.
For example, by accident, I have selected multiple boxes (I didn't realize at first that the red around the box was the indicator of what I was editing) so everything moved. Then I wanted that undo box. But it's just as easy to move the boxes back to where they were and pin them. Darn that Dreamweaver for getting me used to the Undo Button.

I put my notes on the test site as I worked. But as a WYSIWYG editor so far it works great.
I'll see what else I can do with it.

Hey thanks for writing in your feedback. The rounded corners feature is not supported by certain browsers (recent versions of most modern browsers support them) Just visited the page on Safari and Firefox, and the tab corners are rounded.

The next version has a central focus on App stability, hope to significantly reduce the number of App crashes after it's released.

I will add your other suggestions to the enhancement list as well. Thanks!

I have been using HTML Egg for few days and I am still learning to fully use it. I have created a multi-page website and I have also been able to upload all the pages on the FTP server.

The problem is: the original homepage of my website (previously created using the old Frontpage) was named default.htm: when taping "www mirkolamonaca it" in a browser, the page is automatically shown. I cannot do the same with HTML Egg. In fact, the current homepage of my website is still the old one created with Frontpage while all the other pages are the ones I created with HTML Egg. Is it possible to define an homepage whose address corresponds to the site domain and not to a HTML file so as to be able to use only HTML Egg on the iPad?

Your software looks interesting and should certainly fill a gap in the app market, but do you have any plans to release a free trial version, maybe with the save and / or upload options disabled? I would love the option to try before you buy, rather than shelling out £10.99 and hoping for the best.
I have volunteered to create a website for a local conservation group but would prefer to use my iPad this time, rather than PC and Dreamweaver as I previously have.
Any thoughts?
