Hi Jennifer,
Thanks for your interest.
Version 5 of our multilingual dictionaries for iPad is now available in iTunes.
iTunes Links: English to Spanish, French, Italian and German.
Our dictionaries support iOS4 multitasking so you can use them with iBooks following the steps below.
- Hold your finger down on a word in iBooks until the magnifying glass appears, then release to display the context menu and tap on Copy.
- Double-click the iOS home button to display running apps.
- Select Ascendo Dictionary if running, or scroll and select if necessary.
- Tap on Ascendo Dictionary search bar twice and paste word.
- Double-click on the iOS home button to return to iBooks.
With version 5 of our dictionaries, there is no need to select a language because all words are in a single index.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Marc

Marc,
Your instructions unfortunately arent compatible with iBooks. Have you personally tried it? iBooks does not give a "copy" option nor does holding the homebutton for 2 seconds return you to the home screen. It brings you to voice control. It appears your product is not compatible in any way with iBooks or kindle app.*

My mistake, I meant double-click home button to switch to an Ascendo Italian English Dictionary, then paste the word into the lookup field. I edited the instructions in my previous post to reflect this.
To access the context menu with "Copy" command, start iBooks, open a book, then hold down your finger on a word until the magnifying glass appears, then release to show the context menu. It could be that this is not available in older versions of iOS, I am using iOS 5.
Please send me a private message if you are still having problems.
Best,
Marc

Hi Marc
No unfortunately even with ios 5 I am not offered a "copy" option when I hold my finger down over a word in the Italian language books I bought through iTunes. Only dictionary (English-english standard) highlight note and search.
