Mine arrived Thursday afternoon. Since it is longer than the Griffin model, I liked it better immediately. As soon as I started using it, I changed my mind. Compared directly to the Griffin, I have to press harder and hold the stylus straight up and down to get any kind of consistent response from it.
It was only $9, so I'm not going to return it or be upset. I'll just leave it in my desk drawer as a spare.
Well upon further review, this stylus is okay. I found that many of my complaints and initial frustration were due to the app I was using (smartNote). I got Notes Plus yesterday and now I can write just fine with this stylus. I still would prefer a more solid tip, but this new app registers my strokes much more efficiently. I still can't use it with the lanyard, because it's so obnoxiously loud, so I just clip it on the outside edge of my Apple Case and it's just fine for transporting. The case can still be opened to use the iPad with the pen attached and you barely even notice it.
Another thing that I didn't previously mention though is the feel of the pen. I found it to be slightly too thin and hard. After writing for a bit, my finger started to hurt a bit because of having to hold it slightly differently than pens I normally use, and there is no padding at all. This was solved by adding a rubber grip (stolen from an old pen). Now it feels nearly perfect and is much easier to write with.
So if you have an extra grip, I recommend slipping it on your stylus... it makes a huge difference!
Mine came earlier today. I have been using it for about five hours. Cool, I like it. It is similar to the Targus only a little longer and a hair fatter. First thing I did was remove the tether.
What note taking apps have you found to work well with this stylus?
I recommend watching some YouTube videos to see what you like.
Also, I write a longer review here:
I've had mine since March and the tip just wore out. I use it a lot in Penultimate and Abble Dabble among other things (these are my heaviest hitters with the stylus). I loved it at first, but recently noticed it making a mess on my screen. So I took a close look at the tip and noticed the tip is torn. And while I was examining it, black stuff was getting on my fingers (hence the mess on the screen). I paid $13.95 through Amazon (sold by ChiTek Corp) and am going to see if they'll replace it.
I too removed the dangly thing (can't think of exact terminology) and hook it on the SIDE of my black Apple case (this is specifically why I bought this model, because the clip is thin and allows the attachement). Will update later re: status of replacement.
