Although a couple of "fine point" styluses are available, the most popular being those from Adonit, you may not be happy with the results. Simply put, a pinpoint stylus is not possible for a capacitive screen. There are some workarounds that enable you to see where the contact point is estimated to be. (That's the Adonit Jot approach). But without additional hardware a fine point stylus is not possible.

So a stylus does work with iPad 2? I tried one a long time ago on a iPhone and it didn't work, maybe i didn't have the right kind?

Does an increase in screen resolution translate to an increase in capacitive sensitivity/density? That is, will the "new iPad" be able to utilize finer tipped styli now that the screen resolution has increased?
