Attention Jawbone Jambox owners!
Very important! Do not upgrade or sync your Jambox to get the new firmware. The upgrade totally kills the volume level on this previously awesome speaker. The company is aware of the problem and is working on a fix. In the meantime some of us now have a useless $200 device. There is no way to go back to the previous version. Just a heads up for the rest of you.

Unfortunately I already had updated my Jambox. I didn't really notice the volume thing but did notice the sound seemed to vibrate the speaker a bit after the update. Have any others heard issues with the update?

Lots of discussion about this issue on the Jawbone support forum. Many unhappy owners.

Thanks for the heads up. Would be great if you'd post again when the problem is fixed, if you're inclined.

Just bumping this up. Is there still an issue with the latest update?

What was the update supposed to add?
I've been using my Jambox as-is since I bought it, and it's been working great. I have no idea what version software it's on, but why should I be looking to update (even after a fix is found)?

The last update was supposed to add a "live audio" feature which they highly touted in an email. It's supposed to be almost like a surround sound effect, but it doesn't work very well and kills the volume even when this new feature is turned off. Most of us who did the upgrade wish we could go back to the old firmware but Jawbone provides no way of doing this. Stay tuned......

I agree: the update "killed" the Jambox: no signal, no light, nothing. There is a reset possibility: Keep the talk-button pressed, then plug in the USB into the computer and release the talk-button...
And while they fix that unbelivable problem, they should also stop that much to loud on/off-sound...

Too bad I updated prior to reading this thread.
I noticed a vibration in the Jambox that I did not notice before updating. Grrrrrrrrrr
