It is for the iPad, not the iPad 2 which is slightly smaller and thinner. Be prepared to add a little padding to make it fit snugly.

Maybe the iklip is also an option, allowing you to use the tripod for the camera and clipping this thing to a leg

After spending two hours building my own mount a friend sent me this link.
It's a tripod mount for iPad 2.
