Hi guys, it response to the above posts it's not a static like shock it is tingling/mild vibrating like sensation and constant when on charge, it does it when
Plugged into different sockets so can rule that out. It does how ever stop when I use my lightning cable in conjunction with my iPhone
charger so I'm thinking its an issue with power supply that came with the ipad. I'm under the impression that the iPhone charger is not as powerful as the iPad charger, but not 100% on this. It's does seem to take longer to charge (maybe its in my head ) but havent really had time to experiment I plan to
Take it to an apple store Sunday so I will see what they say as I would like to use the charger that came with it! When I ordered my iPad I ordered one for my girl friend for a Christmas present tempted to open it and try her charger out lol but I doubt that will go down well 😄 off to apple at the weekend! For the record it looks like you guys know your stuff when it comes to iPads so thanks for the advice and look forward to being part of the community.

Thanks much for the additional information.
The iPad 4 charger is a 12W charger (2.4 Amps) and is the biggest they make for the iPad.
I believe the iPhone charger is only 5W (1 Amp).
Please let us know what Apple has to say about the issue.

Hi Dan the advice poisonivy gave is good advice in particular because she is using the same voltage. Over here in Canada/USA we only use 110v you guys are on 240v so you may be feeling a cycle vibration. I don't think you are feeling 'electrical current' but just a slight vibration in the case of the iPad while charging. Right now, according to the Daily Mail on line, there is no way it's static 'cause you guys are drenched with rain and 100% humidity. Got any latex gloves? Put one on and touch your iPad while it's charging, same feeling=vibration. Or you could use a AVR meter and test the case for voltage - you won't find any. Let us know the outcome please, regardless. That is how the learning curve flourishes here.

Hey guys and girls! So went to the apple shop this weekend and explained my problem I'm having with the tingling sensation. We plugged it in and sure enough it was still there. The lady at the shop could not feel it and said the same as apple support that it was known about and some people are more sensitive to its then others. I was still not convinced so we tried a different charger...it went away! So she put it down to a faulty charger and couldn't say much else about it, she replaced my charger and cable at no cost and I went on my way. So I have it plugged in at home as I type this in the same socket as before and the problem is no longer there. Hopefully we have solved it
so to any other ipad users out there who are having the same problem my advice is try changing the charger to your ipad, the cable didn't seem to be the problem ( but was exchanged anyway) hope this helps!

thats good to hear,in my case a complete change of ipad did no good but using a MBP cable resolved it so there we have two solutions for anyone else with this issue.....oh yes and using the extra cable gives a nice length when you want to be a bit further away from the mains socket......Apple were brilliant by the way and gave me a spare MBP cable free of charge.
