Transferred new videos to Ipad but the quality is crap!

Hi all

I had some movies on my computer I wanted to transfer to my iPad. They were AVI files but converted them to MPEG 4's (using Any Video Converter program).

Transferred the movies to my iPad but the quality of them on the iPad is awful. They are fine to watch on the computer as AVI's.

Does anyone know how I can improve the quality, whether using another convertor program perhaps.

I've used Handbrake to convert a lot of movies and never had a problem, maybe give
that a try and see if it makes them any better

If you have a Dropbox account I would get hold of a decent video player that supports all formats, 'nPlayer' being one.

First, copy your videos to Dropbox then using Dropbox on your iPad select a video and opt to Open them using nPlayer.
This will copy the video from Dropbox to your iPad.
You can then delete the video from Dropbox if space is at a premium.

Doing it this way saves all the hassle in converting files.

or you can try vlc streaming app it convert the movie first as you can watch it right away from the ipad and if you like it you can save it inside if you have full version but if you dont like the conversion you can stop it and choose different resolutions and audio

The problem with this approach, IME, is that you first have to upload the video to dropbox, then you have to bring it down to your iPad. Another way is to pay $3 (or whatever the price is) for an app like AnyDVDHD...it will play most formats and has a built in http/ftp server so you can transfer the video directly to your iPad over your house wifi.

Yes, true... This is another option.
At least we have a number of choices outside of having to do the conversion process.
It's all a matter of personal choice. I'm fortunate in having over 100GB of cloud storage available.
The only issue is making sure you use it over wifi only otherwise it becomes very costly.... That and hoping wherever you are you have a connection..... Hence transferring to the iPad is the better choice.
