Problems searching in Contacts

Hi all
I have a quick question - can yo adjust how the iPad searches through contacts so that it ignores the addresses and looks only at names? For example I just looked up a friend whose surname is Wood. The search displayed a ton of people who have Wood somewhere in their address and quite a few where there was no mention of the word wood anywhere in the entry. All in all I had to scroll through about 15 names before I found my friend. What I would like to do is to get it firstly to search on name, then company name and finally anything else. Is this possible at all?
