It would have the same effect, yes. I have a 55" 1080p tv but from where I view it I can't make out the individual pixels therefore it as the same effect. It is all down to viewing distances, retina display is just a name coined by Apple because they said you can't discern the individual pixels. If I hold the iPhone 4 close enough to my face then I can make out the individual pixels but from a normal viewing distance I can hence the term 'retina display'.Quote:

One of the "experts" that has a good reputation with forecasting is saying that they expect the new iPad to be called something like the iPad HD because of the higher resolution display. I still think the iPad 3 is a strong possibility. Their other predictions were A6 dual core, not quad core, and a maybe not on 4G. It goes to show that Apple is real good about keeping secrets.
It would be logical. iPad 2 is selling well, they would not sacrifice it.
