    Question Problem with configuring mail

    Hello,

I have Internet access on my iPad (I can surf the Internet using safari) but I can not configure email accounts since I upgraded to iOS 6. The reply is always that the server connection is the problem. If anyone can help, thank you in advance.

Hi Roxana and welcome to the forum. I think your iPad is giving you the answer. Restore your Mail account information via Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and under Acounts delete and re-enter the information that you had originally given to you ISP for mail setup.

I already tried that and still doesn't work. It said that the apple imap server doesn't work. What should I do? Thank you for your suggestion.

Hi Roxana. The following further steps are worth a try. (I hope I am not telling you anything you have already tried)
    1) After a system upgrade it is always a good idea to reset your iPad. Simultaneously hold down the On/Off and Home buttons until the screen goes dark and then wait until the white Apple logo appears. Let both buttons go and again wait until the home screen re-appears. Slide the On button.
    2) Tap Settings>General>Reset and then tap "Reset Network Settings".
    3) Double-press the Home button (or do a four-finger swipe upwards) to reveal all the icons still sitting in RAM on the bottom task bar. Hold down on any icon until they all start to wiggle. Delete them all by tapping the delete symbol on each icon. Then restart your iPad.
I trust that will fix the problem. None of the above steps will in any way harm your iPad and can be done all together.
    Regards, Andrew
