Sometimes, but not always, I take my iPad out of my briefcase and it is warm to the touch; warmer than it should be, I think. Any comments, tips, folklore, or expert opinions?

This can happen when you are doing high-processer heavy things, such as games. In fact, I'm gaming as I'm typing this and my iPad is wam.

Usually, it is just emerging from the briefcase after doing nothing, is it busy conspiring against me when I tuck it away?Originally Posted by goofy8275
Is the battery discharging while the iPad is idle?Originally Posted by CDavey

Dunno, I'll check it the next time it happens. Don't think so.Originally Posted by AdmiralAdama

It is odd that your device is feeling warm to you when it hasn't been in use. That's why I asked about battery discharge.
If there's an Apple Store in your community it's worth your while to book an appointment at the Genius Bar. A technician will see you and run a diagnostic on your device. Just make sure you back up your iPad before going to the appointment.
Please let the forum know how the issue is resolved.

I'm in La, there's one almost in walking distance, will this Genius cost me anything?Originally Posted by AdmiralAdama
Shouldn't, but as the Admiral suggests, make sure you do a backup before you go, because they might just whisk your iPad away and replace it with a new one right there and then. The procedure then would be to set up the new one from the backup, rather than as a new machine, but lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Call the Apple Store before you go to set up an appointment. That way, you won't end up waiting a dog's age to see someone.
