Cannot use home sharing on ipad3

Have spent lots of time on this with senior apple support folk and probably will need to take to apple "genius" crew. But am curious...anyone else having this problem? if so, any solutions?

Macmini running Lion
latest update on ipad3 (6.0)
all software updated, all permissions repaired, etc

I just tried it on my iPad 3 running iOS 6, and it worked. Took forever to connect though, and find the album art. I'm hoping it's because it's been so long since I used it.

All I can suggest is going to Settings > Music, logging our of Home Sharing and then re-entering your Apple ID. Also, you should probably make sure that your iTunes on the computer is authorized for the the Apple ID you use with the iPad (if it is different). You'll find that under the Store menu.
