In the CBC app? Double tap the home button, swipe to the right, and tap the pause button.

Glad I could be of assistance. Generally, if an app (Music, Videos, YouTube, CBC, Pandora...) is playing music, you should be able to stop it by double tapping home, swipe to right, click pause.
