Screen comes on

Had my new iPad 3 for just under a week. I put it to sleep and then every so often the screen comes alive. It stays like that for maybe 10secs then goes off again. Any ideas why?

More than likely, you have some sort of push activation going on (as in, the iPad is receiving something). A lot of times, you're receiving an e-mail, although it could be anything.

it you don't want this to happen, turn off your push notices. This will stop it from waking up every now and then...
