I went to Apple to replace mine and they swapped it with a brand new one.. Screen had a few dead pixels...
It will either be a new or refurbished iPad that you receive.Originally Posted by kevinhunter

I had my iPad 2 swapped out last November because the screen got locked in portriat mode. They gave me what I thought to be a brand new one. If it was a refurb instead, I could not tell. With electronics, as long as I can tell it is not new, I'm golden! If they had given me something with a scratch or a ding on it, I would no doubt have had a hissy fit.![]()
