Hello Kevin43, this not not an app like logmein, where you are outside of your own wifi. You have to be on the same LAN as your PC.

You can use it outside of your own LAN, it just has to be set up, such as port forwarding

Hi Kevin, unfortunately you need to be at home and be able to login to your router, then from here you port forward to the pc you want to connect to, for instance if your pc is 192.168.0.4 then you port forward to that address. When you connect over the Internet you use an external IP, eg 96.56.54.56 so when you connect to that address your router will forward it to your pc (192.168.0.4)

You don't need to do port forwarding, you can just connect by logging into your google account from Splashtop. Go to the Splashtop program on your computer. Click on the network tab, there should be a place to log into your google account. From the Splashtop app, click on the setting button on the top right, click on Internet discovery, and log into your google account. BAM, it should find your computer automatically, no need to even think about routers, firewalls, and ports.

Actually if you look at the link addiosamigo provided, there is a section there with the "Internet discovery" setup, which is basically the process I described
