How to see and kill running application.

Is there any way or app to see and kill running applications?

Push the home button twice then select the app/apps (shown at the bottom of the screen) you want to close.

As Cool has suggested, but you also have to press and hold an app icon till it wiggles and then press the red (-) in the corner of the app.

If you have gestures turned on you can swipe up with four fingers to see the bar with previously used app. Tap and hold one until the minus appears, then tap the minus to completely close the app. Some of these apps are running but most are just in a waiting state. To return to the home screen just tap it.
