Hi there-to restart your iPad...you press the power button to power off.

To reset you iPad...you have to press the home button and power button at the same time. Does thar help?

Not if you do it the way I posted earlier.

There is a reset option in the settings that you can erase all content and return to factory settings.

If I do that and double tap my home screen all the apps are still open and safari still on last page
I know if I double tap home button I can close each app one by one but was just wondering if I could reset

Restarting normally closes the apps for me. I think its a 5.1.1 feature.
