can't watch movie on ipad

First I ripped movie then open itunes on pc. plug in ipad,click on the ipad name select apps .find goodreader in file sharing click on goodplayer doc. click the add button click sync. video is not on ipad. what did I do wrong? thank you all. mind you I had to download goodreader and goodplayer.

Carolstar after ripping the DVD add the file to iTunes. It should show up as a Movie in iTunes if it was ripped to a compatible file format. Then plug in the iPad, right click on the iPad and check your sync settings for movies. You probably want to sync only the selected movies. Select your new movie in iTunes and sync. Your new movie will show up and can be played in the built- in Video app on your iPad.

The movie must be in a format that can be played on IPad (mp4,mp4v). Once in that format just add it to ITunes. With your iPad connected, place a check mark in the box next to the movie and sync. You will play the movie by selecting the 'videos' app on the iPad.

Why is that clip showing the trimming of the video like that? Also, I thought I saw an oddly stretched section of video playing at the end. I never trim vidoes at all. They come out exactly as they are on the DVD or Blu-ray (using handbrake). I don't understand this need to trim stuff.
