Seriously ive found that since ive had this new ipad its permanantly plugged into a socket on charge, the battery life on my ipad 1 was much better, to be honest i wish i never bought this new ipad and kept my ipad 1 because it aint all its cracked up to be.
Mine was about 90% charged when I received it from apple.com. It takes 4 hours or less to charge it to 100% and I routinely get around 9 hours use from a full charge. Very favorably compares with my previous iPad 2 and my original iPad.
If my Irish Wolfhound doesn't like you neither will I.

The new iPad battery is crap I've always got a plugged into the wall
I have an IPAD2 and I thought the battery life was terrible when I first got it. It turned out that some apps use the battery faster than others. Apps like Safari and those that use Wi-fi are real hogs and suck the battery really fast. What I do now is use those apps almost on a schedule. Also Apple recommends that at least once a month the battery be drained to a very low percentage, like less than 10% and then be fully charged.
I hope this information helps
My new iPad was fully charged. I did not think anything if it. I was pleasantly surprised. 😊
My battery life is awesome. But I only surf the web, watch vevo and listen to music. Maybe I just don't push it. But as I type this I'm at 67% and I have not charged it since 11a.m. yesterday.Originally Posted by noel1
Be happy, mine actually came 1/2 full when I got the iPad 2, sometimes people tend to think the device is used if the battery is not full
Im glad you posted your experience seneca18, cause I was thinking the same. I have the new iPad since March 17, 2012, discharged it down to 1% and fully recharged it. I've been on this iPad 3rd Gen now since 7am New York time and the battery shows 38%. It is now almost 10pm New York time and I am physically drained. My iPad is outlasting ME!Originally Posted by seneca18
My ipad was about 70% charged when I received it. I plug it in at night around 9-10 and unplug in the morning between 6-7. I use it moderately all day and haven't experienced any problems.
