Do you really want a mount that blocks that much of your forward view? It's dangerous.

I agree it's insane to block that much of a view from the front windshield. Seems dangerous
Yes, we are. That photo just scares me so I had to say something. Even my little garmin could block a little bit of view. The iPad is a lot bigger and if you mount it on the window, then you get much more blockage. It would be possible to mount it on the dash using those suction cups? On the dash would be nice, I think.

That is Navigon for North America. The company is out of the UK, IIRC. Garmin recently bought them, however. I like Navigon. It has it's own maps. But know that there are other programs. I can't say which is best as I've only used this one. The cost of these programs means I'm not buying any others! It's good enough. It gives warnings that off my the accelerometer. It shows upcoming lane changes, telling you which lane you need to be in for an exit. It works with music or audio playing in the background (I feed the sound from the 3.5m jack into my tape deck using a cassette adapter. I mainly use this for longer trips that I plan. Mostly when I use the gps around town I just use my phone. If I were a professional driver then I'd use this setup. And for me, the Arkon seat mount arm works well. I don't find I need to be very gentle, but I don't generally rip things too hard, I just go slow (both of my tablets fit - I have an Android tablet too, but it collects dust mostly). I've had no problems getting my tablets in or out of the mount. Just insert the bottom of the tablet first, then push the upper part of the mount up until it allows the tablet to go in flat, then release. Works great. It will vibrate a bit on rough roads, so I usually stabilize it using some foam behind the ipad against the dash. It is not wobbly, but it is top heavy when the tablet is in the holder so there is a slight amount of shake. The mount are is very stout. There are other ways to stabilize it too.

I drive a convertible and my garmin can get in the way. I can't imagine this on my windshield
Mint can't dash mount .. Not enough room even for my regular GPS
