    The newest Apple TV still has the YouTube app, at least mine does. I assumed that, if it were a licensing issue between google and apple, the YouTube app would have disappeared from Apple TV as well, but it's still in the latest Apple TV update.

    Maybe there was a separate licence for mobile devices?

    Lost the app
    SO using Safari to access youtube instead of the app

    I use safari for YouTube too. If it errors I close and restart and go to a video I know will play in my likes first.

    Have you tried the YouTube iPhone app? It works for the iPad as well. There are also Jasmine, YouPlayer and several other apps that will play YouTube videos.

    I use Jasmine and it's great. It is on the App Store.

    Noticed the reviews for the YouTube app for iPhone weren't complimentary. Agreed, the YouPlayer app is nice.

    Ios6 does not have the YouTube app. You all can talk about how wonderful it is, but it is gone. That's what the topic is after the upgrade the app was gone.

    The native YouTube app is gone in iOS 6, yes, but there is the YouTube iPhone app, that also works on the iPad.
