Mirror image

When I use the front camera to make a video and then play it back I get a mirror image.......i.e. everything is changed from left to right !
What's occurring ?

That's the view from the front camera. It the way it is. If you take a photo using the front-facing camera, you'll see that it also turns out as a mirror image.

There's nothing wrong, it's just the way Apple designed the front-facing camera.

It's a bit of a surprise when you take the picture, you are on the left and your wife is on the right when you see the picture on the screen, then you press the shutter to accept the image and then you look at the picture, and your are now on the right and your wife is on the left !!!.......now that is very odd indeed- I'm sure that can't be right ?

Exactly like any other camera surely, except we don't usually see ourselves in the lens...
