About LinkBacksI need to make some room on my iPad. How do you remove apps without deleting them? This is a temporary measure to make room for a few movies, then I will put the apps back on the iPad. Is this a big hassle?

First long press on any app. The ones that can be removed will show a black cross.
Touch them to remove them.
If you want to find out which ones are taking up the most space, go to Settings/Usage
And you will get a list of each app and the space it occupies.
