    Wifi problem

When I go to my sons school they have an open network. Both my htc and my laptop pick these up. But my iPad gets errored and wont hook up to the net citing appledotcom is restricted on a blacklist. Do I have to get a 3rd party wifi finder? Or is there a setting on my iPad I'm not finding?

It sounds as if you need to talk to the school IT person. They may have some setting, or a switch thrown, that won't allow the iPad to access their network. If you ask, maybe they can figure out why the iPad is erroring out when you try to access the WiFi.

    Good luck.

Apparently the school has blocked that URL. This should not stop you from going to other internet sites. Before you go to the school next time, try setting up Safari (or whatever browser you use) to go to another site such as google.com. Leave this open on the iPad when you lock it, so that when you unlock it at the school, Google should come up if they don't have Google blocked too.

That suggestion about gearing the safari page to a predestined target seemed to do the trick. Suddenly my iPad came alive with the blood o wifi. Amazing. It feels cold and lifeless without it. Which reminds me to check on the thread for not dependent on wifi apps. Thanks for the suggestions. Forum Power!!!!

Thank you for being kind enough to acknowledge that a suggested solution worked. Many times we never know the outcome.
