I have the Griffin Survivor and I like it a lot but there is no case for the screen. It does have a thin sheet of plastic that covers the screen but if you were to drop the iPad and something hit the screen I'm pretty sure it would still crack it. I had the OtterBox first but even with the case covering the screen there are quarter sized holes in each corner where the screen is exposed. So I sold the Otterbox and just went with the Survivor.

I have the Casecrown Epic Standby and it's great. Has the magnet to go into sleep mode when you close it and a built in stand. I don't think you can find a better made case for the money. Only $14 with free shipping if you spend $25 or more.

when i get the ipad2 would i need a screen for the front of it..
Gumdrop. It's like a vault for your ipad. Protects screen and the thick rubber wrap might even save a high drop. Got mine from Amazon.
the Casecrown Epic is a nice case i might get it when i get my ipad2
What you do with your IPad will determine if you'll need one but I would recommend it.Originally Posted by tazz3
With 3 layers of protection it's a real durable case IMO.Originally Posted by jpnestel

what's a bit unique about this rear cover is that it fits over the smart cover's long magnetic attachment bar, which makes the issue some folks have of the smart cover pulling loose during handling, and the ipad hitting the floor or other surface, a non-issue. the fit is perfect, just as though it was designed at apple. while this combo won't protect the ipad from a ballistic toss across the room, it seems like it will provide good protection from normal, every-day handling in a minimalist format.
Why this case? It's nice that it snaps the smart cover into place but for the price you could buy one that give a little more protection,. That lock in the smart cover?Originally Posted by mk4
On the other hand the zen of the iPad is its minimalist concept so less is better. I guess my main questioning is have you looked at other back-snap cases
