FaceTime problems

Hello to all forum members from a newbie

I'm trying to use FaceTime on my ipad2 but when I try to login, after entering my apple ID and pressing 'Sign in' the page sweeps to the next page asking to verify the email to be used, when I click the 'next' icon, it sweeps back to the login page and I cant use it??

Has anyone had this problem that can help?

Hi and welcome to the Forum!

I think the app is just playing up and when this happens close it completely. From the home screen do the four finger swipe up or double press the home button to reveal your multi task bar. These are all the apps that you have opened at one time. Long press the app until it jiggles and a red minus sign will appear above it. Press the minus sign, this will close the app, not delete it. Have another try and see if it's good to go now, let us know if you still have trouble.

Thanks for the reply leelai, I've tried restarting the application and also restarting the iPad with no success, I also changed my apple password but no good.
It's probably connected but I just tried to login to iMessage and get the exact same thing, the screen sweeps and the just sweeps
right back, not sure if this info helps but I guess it's related
Any ideas before I revert to Skype

Hi grant-there has been a lot of members posting problems trying to log into FaceTime and also iMessage. Twerppoet, an informative member, mentioned that the problem may be a higher volume of people trying to register since Xmas. Try to wait a bit and see if you can connect later. Hope this helps you.

Thanks simonkey, it might end up having to be a wait and see solution. Interestingly I can use FaceTime on my iPhone!!

I am not sure if you verified this...or if this was an earlier step to check-but can you see if your facetime was restricted? Go to Settings/General/Restriction/Factime. See of the Restrictions were left on. Just a stab in the dark to see if that helps...

I got an iPad 2 for Christmas and have been trying to use FaceTime and iMessage on it and am having the same problem. Every time I try to sign in using either FaceTime or iMessage the page sweeps right to the "Verify" screen and then sweeps back to the "Sign In" page. I have tried multiple WiFi networks and multiple username and passwords. I have also tried closing the app out (when you double click on home page) and have rebooted my iPad several times. Both of my sisters got the same iPad for Christmas and their FaceTime and iMessage work properly. I am wondering what to do besides take it to the apple store. I heard that it might help to restore the iPad but I do not want to lose any of my stuff. PLEASE HELP!
