What is jailbreaking?

I keep reading about jailbreaking, but am not sure what it is, what is it's purpose, is it worth doing, and how do you do it? Cna nyone enlightem e please? Thanks

Well, jail breaking is a way to create more access to your iPad so you can do things to it that Apple does not allow on a stock device (change icon names, change screen display views, modify the lock screen, etc.).

The best thing for you to do is (1) grab your favorite snack and (2) head over to the forum's Hacking section for a read of all the stickies ... and then the posts. You'll get some good explanations and reasons why over there.
