will ios 5.0.1 upgrade erase my keyboard shortcuts?

    Hello

I have and iPad2 and iOS 5.0. I've made about 200 keyboard shortcuts in General/Keyboard/Shortcuts. Will they be erased if/when I update to iOS 5.0.1?

I'm asking because, when I upgraded from iOS 4 to iOS 5 I lost all my ibook settings, and had to spend ages restoring the books from Calibre, re-creating Collections, and moving the books into them.

That wasn't so bad. But it took me hours to make all my shortcuts. It's not something I want to have to do again in a hurry!

PS Is there a good program for backing up all iPad2 data (including iBooks) and custom settings?

    Thanks

    Mary

200 keyboard shortcuts?! I have trouble remembering six. Mary, you have missed your calling if you're not a court reporter.

It's actually more than 200, more like 4-500. But they've evolved from a short set -- I've been using them since the late 1980s. I make sure to structure them, so that they're easy to remember. 3-letter shortcuts for months, 4-letter for days. All contractions have 2-4 letter shortcuts. It's much much easier to type 'dnn' than 'don't', 'shdn' for 'shouldn't'. Lots are the same basic word + ed or ing: spose=suppose; sposd=supposed; tk=think; tkg=thinking. And so forth. some shortcuts are just the lower-case version of names: john=John, etc. It makes typing much faster, though it has its little snags.
