Can't save attachments from email

I seem to have a problem, in that I can't save attachments from my email. No save as option. Only open option. Any idea's on how to save attachments?

You have to 'Open In' a compatible app and then save them in that app. You cannot directly save attachments received in the iPad's native Mail app. This is because each app has its own local file space. Although Mail can view several format apps - such as PDF and Word - it cannot process or edit them. So it offers you the opportunity to open the attachment in a compatible app, from where you will be able to save the file.
