    Can anyone tell me if there's a way to create Safari bookmark icons on my iPad 2 desktop?

    Click the middle button with the arrow in it. You must open safari first. Then simply select add to home screen

    Touch the arrow to the left of the location bar and choose "Add to Home Screen."
