No, sorry. The iPad cannot use a modem connected to the USB port.
Tethering to a Wifi or bluetooth hot spot like on an iPhone is your only supported option.

You don't need a plug in modem. You can connect by WiFi to a MiFi modem. This is mobile broadband. I am in the UK and I use a model by a Provider called Three. I am not sure what country you are in but you should be able to Google MiFi to find out where it is available.

Hi Mikkel and welcome to the forum -
I'm not sure what you are asking to do w/ your iPad?
First, does your iPad have both a Wi-Fi and 3G option? If so, then if you are in an area w/ Wi-Fi choices then the device defers to that 'wireless' option over 3G (just faster) - you can adjust these choices in your settings app.
Second, if you did not buy an iPad w/ a 3G option, then Wi-Fi is your only choice regardless of how you want to connect.
Finally, as already stated the 'Camera Connection Kit' is meant for that only - the docking station cannot be used for other USB options.
Please better describe your needs and hopefully more specific advice can be offered - best of luck!
