    iPad 2 backlight bleeding?

I bought my iPad 2 from Korea. I set up an appointment tomorrow with the genuises. I don't have my receipt but I do have the thing from the airport/package. Do you think I could still get a exchange? And are the brown box ipads 'new.' ? And do i get to hold on to my original ipad until it comes? all responds appreciated!

it should be okay without the reciept, apple are usually pretty good about replacing faulty units, i think they can check the purchase date by the serial number or imei or something like that. in regards to the ipads in the brown box there is a chance they will be refurbs, but dont be concerned as they will be in as good condition as new, they are not the same as a second hand ipads, the likely hood is that you wont be able to tell the difference between a refurb and a new boxed ipad.

in regards to light leakage be aware there is a chance you will recieve an ipad with the same problem, i have swaped out 6 since the uk release and all have suffered from the issue

    regards,

    and good luck

I think you will get an exchange; Apple is replacing iPads that have bleeding problems. The Apple Store will be able to determine the age of your iPad by means of the serial number. The 'brown box' iPads are new; they don't replace iPads with refurbished units, as far as I am aware. I would definitely insist on holding on to your existing iPad - no way let it go, because you never know how long it will take for the new one to arrive. But back up your iPad before you go, just to be on the safe side...
