You could use:
-Add a gmail account and set it to sync notes and contacts.
-MobileMe free trial syncs notes, contacts and more

I second the gmail suggestion.
Also, I have started using Evernote for note taking and note syncing because to be honest, native apple syncing isn't all that great and reliable (no cloud backups)
