It is about cost and developement and not just about hardware but more importantly applications and on board Apple software.

Exactly! It could have easily been implemented then. They just greedy n would rather make us wait to fork out more $$$ knowing we gonna want new features. Ipad 2 owners gonna be mad once ipad3 dropsvn has new comparable quality retina display. Damn u apple, i love the product but not ur smooching strategies. U broke alot of current ipad owners hearts with these features that coulda easily came on first generation.
