Erratic keyboard!!!!

Hi can anyone help please?
My iPad keyboard keeps playing up.

Adds fullstops after every word
When I press delete then it continues to delete all I have written.

Getting to point of giving up as things taking far too long!

Maybe you have a defective touchscreen. Have you thought of making an Genius appointment at an Apple store to have it checked?

Hi Julie and a warm welcome to the forum. Not sure how long you have had that problem but generally when an iPad starts to "act up" a bit, what has helped often is to carry out some simple "maintenance". Here is something Apple recommend you should do periodically to tidy up RAM and cache memory and generally sweeten up your iPad. This does no harm to any setting or app.
Do this to reset your iPad:
Simultaneously hold down the power On/Off and Home buttons until the screen blacks out. Keep holding, ignore any On slider until the white Apple logo appears, then let go both buttons. Then keep waiting a bit longer until your wallpaper appears. Slide to on. Hope that may have helped.
