The battery is just fine, it's most likely a firmware issue. They updated/reset my iPad again and if that doesn't fix it then it's probably a hardware issue. 6.0.2 is supposed to fix the problem that caused my firmware issue. Supposedly, anyway.
iOS 6.0.2 is only available for the iPad mini and the iPhone 5.

Correct. He was just speculating about the possibility of a fix when the next update is available for iPad - not saying that it is available now. iOS 6.0.1 is the current version for iPad.

Today's battery seems to live in opposite land where battery level decreases to 85% before magically recharging itself through the evening culminating in its arrival at 100% when I had to restart the iPad in order to get AirPlay to reappear. Two hours later and it's clear that magic battery is here to stay. Restore (treating as new) and firmware update at the Genius Bar (again treating as new) did not fix it. I'm going to run it down until it shuts off, recalibrate, and see if I can get it working again. I usually get the new update when it becomes available and I don't remember when that was, but it wasn't last week when my problems first appeared which makes it hard to believe it would be software/firmware/update related.

Still, just shy of two years and this is my only complaint - it's worked flawlessly up until this point. I guess I can't complain too much.
